Local Union 270 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers was established on July 1, 1952 and maintains jurisdiction over all Outside (including Line Clearance and Tree Trimming) and Inside Electrical work in the Tennessee counties of Cumberland, Fentress, Morgan, Overton, Pickett, Scott, and Roane. Also in Anderson County: Oak Ridge Town site and the Oak Ridge DOE facilities.

To establish and maintain an adequate wage for our labor
To require of our members skill, intelligence, and character
To protect our employers from unskilled and inexperienced workers
To advance the principles and practices of conciliation and arbitration in the settlement of any differences with our employers
To protect and aid our unemployed, distressed, and sick members
To defend our rights and advance our interest as electrical workers by all lawful means
To aid and encourage all honorable efforts that will better the conditions of labor
To make our card and seal a certificate of fraternity, honesty, efficiency, and reliability
